The World Environmental Protection Day falls on June 5, when the initiative for our planet is celebrated in over 100 countries around the world. In turn, we at FineTech Construction design facilities in such a way as to reduce the impact on the environment, while reducing the use of natural resources and this EVERY DAY!
During every work, we pay special attention to proper management of natural resources, waste utilization and protection of animals and their natural environment.
Recently, during our construction works in a temporary water pit (!), We found tadpoles and juvenile green toads (Bufo viridis). The green toad is of course a strictly protected species!
Actions to protect this species were carried out at the end of May. They were coordinated by a local herpetologist, verified by ecology specialists as part of the BREEAM certification (system of environment-friendly building assessment system existing for over 25 years). These activities consisted in carrying out trapping and transferring specimens that occurred within the construction site as replacement habitat. Before we started trapping, we obtained the permission of the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Warsaw, of course.
We carried out the taking of amphibians using the bucket method of amphibians, they were taken to buckets of water, which were equipped with a cover ensuring access to the air.
After harvesting, the amphibians were transferred to the replacement habitat – to the water reservoirs located in the Park with Cietrzew Ponds and to the reservoir at Wirażowa street called the Zbarski Pond 😊
In short, our ambition is to build and operate eco-friendly high-quality objects in terms of environmental protection, listen to interested parties and respect the company’s social responsibility and commitments!
